TREDs eliminate hazardous vehicle recovery practices like winching and snatching, which can involve highly stressed components such as steel cables, shackles, snatch straps and winches. TREDs are a safer alternative, yet can still handle intense levels of torque, flex, weight and impact because they are engineered with polyolefin materials specifically engineered for TRED.
While the primary use for TREDs is recovery, they can also be used as a preventative measure. If drivers see unstable ground ahead, they can link TREDs together to form a safe path for the car to cross.
Available In Two Sizes
- The TRED 800 has been specifically designed with smaller vehicles in mind such as RAV4, Suzuki, and 'jeep type' four wheel drives where storage of larger recovery products is difficult. TRED 800 offer great peace of mind for anyone driving a two-wheel drive vehicle in areas that could result in loss of traction (e.g. rural properties, weekend drives, icy car parks).
- The TRED 1100 is designed with the serious off-road enthusiast in mind with a little extra width and length to help launch your vehicle out of boggy ground in more serious recoveries. TRED 1100 is also a great tool for commercial and fleet vehicles in the mining, construction and government sectors as well as machine operators that can find themselves in trouble form time to time on boggy ground (e.g. bobcat and forklift operators).

They look like plastic, won't they break?
No, TREDs are not just plastic. Due to the special polyolefin material blend they can handle high levels of flex and are highly durable and wear resistant. The mix of elasticity and tough rigid design means that TRED maintain a high level of pressure on your tyre to provide ultimate traction whilst still being able to take the flex of being under vehicle weight on unstable ground. You may notice minor white stress marks when exposed to high levels of flex but this is what the material is designed to do – flex and bounce back time and time again.

A single TRED 1100 weighs 3.07kg and a single TRED 800 weighs 2.16kg.
Some handy tips & recommendations you should be aware of...
Resting on axle/diff - Ensure your vehicle is not resting on the axles or diff - TRED requires the full weight of the vehicle to provide the most effective traction.
Rocking recovery - Still having difficulty? Try rocking the vehicle back & forth with a TRED on either side of opposite wheels on the same axle.
Tyre pressure - Recommended tyre pressure is 15-18psi (offroad only). This will help prevent initial loss of traction and will allow tyres to grip TREDs more aggressively.
Avoid wheel spin - Wheel spin may result in personal injury or property damage including damage to TREDs reducing their effective life, not to mention dig you further in.
Snatch strap winching - For those extreme situations where no single recovery device will get you out, combining your approach will ensure your best chances of success.
Clearing the way - It is important to clear debris for an effective recovery, however in doing so never climb under a vehicle and be aware of hot mechanical parts.
