DID YOU KNOW?

Nearly All Products We Manufacture Are Street Legal Within Australia!

In many cases, these products do not require separate approvals. However, in some circumstances it is preferable to have items certified for use under a Suspension Modification Code (NCOP VSB14 LS4/LS6).

Superior Engineering has been working hard to make the certification and approval process straightforward. For Nissan Patrol GU Y61 coil-sprung utes and wagons (non-ESC only), a wide range of NCOP VSB14 LS Design Code approvals are already in place for many Superior Engineering manufactured suspension components.

If your vehicle is presented in a roadworthy state to an Approved Person (AP – TMR) for inspection under the NCOP VSB LS suspension codes, you can have those Superior parts mod plated and fully approved.

What Approval Does (and Doesn’t) Cover

It’s important to note that approval does not mean you can legalise extreme modifications such as 6-inch lifts and 40-inch tyres at the same time. Instead, the vehicle must sit at the correct legal height with the appropriate wheel and tyre size to be considered compliant in your state.

Having your suspension components approved can help protect you if disputes arise with insurance companies, during annual roadworthy inspections, or when it comes time to sell or re-register the vehicle.

The Approval Process

Getting approval is usually a simple matter of presenting your vehicle in a roadworthy state to an accredited AP officer. Once there, you’ll need to provide the correct paperwork from Superior Engineering and pay for the inspection and approval.

All relevant paperwork is available from Superior Engineering once you complete the online Approval Checklist. This checklist allows us to compile the correct design codes to suit your components, as well as the comprehensive fitting instructions, maintenance schedules, and approval check sheets required by inspectors.

We then forward this information directly to your AP officer, giving them a direct point of contact with Superior Engineering should they need more details. This system allows you to focus solely on getting your vehicle to the inspection.
