Independent Front Suspension (IFS) utes have become the backbone of modern 4WDing. They offer comfort, control and handling on-road, but when it comes to lifting them for bigger tyres and tougher tracks, things can get tricky fast. Poorly planned modifications can damage suspension components, ruin handling, and even risk catastrophic failures.

So how do you fit a big lift the right way? Let’s break it down.

With a small lift, alignment and handling changes can usually be corrected with factory camber bolts. But as lift heights increase, so do the problems:

  • Clunking noises from the upper control arm (UCA) hitting the strut tower or coil.
