FRONT STRUTS & COIL SPRINGS

The front suspension has been designed to deliver improved ride quality, suspension control and load carrying performance while maintaining comfort for everyday driving and touring applications. Superior front struts are available in a range of configurations including Nitro Twin Tube, IFP, 2.0 Monotube or premium 2.5 3 Way Adjustable remote reservoir shocks.

Each shock option has been developed to provide improved damping performance and increased durability compared to factory suspension, allowing customers to tailor the package to suit touring or more aggressive off-road driving requirements. Also supplied is heavy-duty front coil springs, which are matched specifically to the increased GVM requirements of the vehicle, helping maintain correct ride height and suspension performance.

FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENT UPGRADES

To support the increased lift height and maintain accurate suspension geometry, the Outback Explorer package includes a range of front suspension upgrades designed to improve alignment, driveline angles and overall reliability.

Included are our Superior Billet Series Gen 2 Adjustable Upper Control Arms, which are manufactured from high-strength 6061-T6 alloy and allow precise alignment correction after lifting the vehicle. The design improves ball joint operating angles while increasing overall strength and suspension articulation.

Also supplied is our billet sway bar link kit and sway bar relocation brackets, making the front suspension maintain correct clearance and operation throughout suspension travel.

REAR SHOCKS & LEAF SPRINGS

At the rear, the Outback Explorer package combines heavy-duty leaf springs with upgraded rear shock absorbers to improve load carrying capability, ride comfort and overall vehicle stability.

Rear shock absorbers are available in Nitro Twin Tube, IFP, 2.0 Monotube or premium 2.5 3 Way Adjustable remote reservoir configurations, allowing the suspension package to be tailored to the customer’s intended use. Whether carrying constant load or travelling heavily equipped across corrugated roads, the upgraded rear suspension provides increased control and reduced suspension fade compared to factory components.

REAR SUSPENSION COMPONENT UPGRADES

To complement the upgraded rear suspension, the Outback Explorer package includes a complete range of supporting components designed to improve reliability, articulation and long-term durability. Greasable rear shackles, replacement U-bolts, greasable fixed pins and polyurethane spring bushes improve durability and serviceability in all conditions. The kit also includes a rear diff wiring harness relocation bracket to ensure correct component operation at increased suspension travel.

WHEELS & TYRES

The Outback Explorer package is certified with the OEM wheel and tyre sizing. Once the vehicle has been registered, larger tyres (up to 50mm larger) may be fitted in accordance with your state or territory regulations.

LEGAL LIGHTING UPGRADES

To ensure ongoing compliance with Australian regulations following the suspension upgrade, the Outback Explorer package includes additional rear lighting upgrades designed to improve vehicle visibility and safety.

A CAT-6 side repeater kit is also included to maintain legal lighting visibility requirements.

MUDFLAPS

To help control road debris, mud and stone throw following the suspension upgrade, the package includes Superior Premium Mudflaps for both the front and rear of the vehicle. They are manufactured from durable materials suitable for harsh Australian conditions, the mudflaps help protect the vehicle body, paintwork and surrounding traffic while complementing the overall appearance of the Hilux.

If you take your vehicle off the beaten track frequently, our Billet Series Universal Quick Disconnect Kit can be optioned into the kit. Allowing you to remove and reinstall your mudflaps withing a matter of seconds.

GUARD DECAL

Finishing off the package is a pair of Superior Outback Explorer chrome guard decals, providing a clean and distinctive appearance that identifies the vehicle as part of the Superior federally approved Outback Explorer program.

Designed specifically for the latest Toyota Hilux AN2 (N90) platform, the decals complement the vehicle styling while adding a premium finishing touch to the completed build.

Superior Engineering Outback Explorer Kits are legal Australia Wide with Federal Approved when fitted prior to the vehicle's first registration. These kits are exclusively available for fitment through Superior Engineering or one of our Federally Approved Production Facilities. Post Registration options may be available on selected kits, depending on the State or Territory your vehicle is registered in.
